I am a Mechanical Engineer by education but I’m actually a self-taught hardware hacker. I completed my PhD at the University of Washington with Prof. Eric Rombokas where I worked on the fabrication of soft robots, haptics and haptics using soft robots.

Name

Pornthep is pronounced Pawn-Tep. It is a Thai name that means “blessing from a deity”, which I am not.

Background

Born in Thailand, I spent half of my childhood in the United States and the other half in Thailand. Then, after completing my Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. in the United States.
